The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a major cost-saving decision by reducing the fuel allowance for official vehicles. According to the administration department, the KP government fuel quota reduction policy will decrease fuel use for government vehicles across different departments. The decision aims to control government spending and promote austerity measures during challenging economic conditions.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration department has sent an official letter to all departments explaining the new limits. Under the new rules, ministers, advisers, and special assistants will now receive 292 liters of fuel per month instead of the previous 390 liters. Similarly, the chief secretary, additional chief secretary, and finance secretary will see their monthly fuel quota reduced from 146 liters to 98 liters.
The letter also states that administrative secretaries, commissioners, and deputy inspectors general (DIGs) will now receive 85 liters of fuel instead of 114 liters. Meanwhile, officers in Grade 20 and above will have their monthly fuel allowance reduced from 98 liters to 74 liters.
